In Stealth Inc 2 you play a clone trying to escape from a high tech testing facility. Brain power and super quick reflexes are the order of the day to see you safely through each level, and there are a lot of them! Sixty in total, so plenty to keep you busy for a while. Incentive, such as online leaderboards and level rankings will see you happily replaying levels, trying to improve your time or be spotted less.
Death is never far away and the Grim Reaper comes knocking, scythe in hand, frequently, but fear not, being a clone allows you certain advantages, such as death not really being all that permanent. Very useful, and players need to embrace the near constant death and re-cloning. It’s a useful learning experience as you navigate the levels, avoiding numerous hazards, getting squished by falling blocks, spotted by security cameras and alarm dogs and being burned by the lasers.
Pay particular attention to the colour of your clone’s eyes. They change quicker than town centre traffic lights. Green and you are safe and none of the various hazards have spotted you; amber, and danger is approaching with the Grim Reaper peeking his head around the corner patiently waiting for you to slip up. And Red, death is right there on your back and you are pretty much a goner. All is not lost though – lightning quick reflexes can see you out of this tight spot. A well executed jump up a ledge or just run like the coward you are and hide in the shadows, and you may just save yourself. The relief you feel when your eyes turn back to a lovely green hue is immense, until you realise this is just a temporary fix. You can’t shiver on that ledge forever. At some point you are going to have to jump back down into harm’s way again if you want to escape.
Watch out for Malcolm, your arch nemesis, who is constantly trying to ‘off’ you. Communicating via messages written on the walls, Malcolm will tease and mock you about impending hazards and your untimely and inevitable death.
Stuck deep in the dark, sinister testing facility, Stealth Inc 2 is creepy, atmospheric and fun. For most of the game you will find yourself in a dank, joyless world, with only your immediate play area highlighted and quite often finding yourself stepping into the unknown. This only adds to the experience and really makes you focus on getting those lovable clones home to safety. I am not ashamed to admit that I am slightly smitten with those adorable bobble-headed, googly-eyed clones. As you kill them over and over again they worm their way into your heart, each death breaking you down a little bit more each time. *sniffle*
It’s safe to say, I am in love! Stealth Inc 2 is a brilliant puzzle platformer, and with sixty levels to play you can keep saving your clones over and over again. Each level has a great replay value. Once you have exhausted all the levels, you can try to improve your performance and work your way up the online leaderboard. Overall a fantastic little game and plenty to keep you amused until the cows come home and all the bobbleheads are saved.
