From its name, Sigi: A Fart for Melusina lets you know that if you’re after a deep and meaningful experience then you’ve come to the wrong place. If you are however after a fun, silly, 2D platformer then there are definitely worse places you could look.
Sigi is a Knight who despite kicking ass, can’t actually keep his ass under control in front of the woman he loves, Melusina. Fast forward to one ripper too many and it’s up to Sigi to defeat the evil Trump Administration. Alright, the enemies aren’t actually called the Trump administration, but they should be. Either way, what follows is 20 short levels which include 4 bosses. One of them looks suspiciously like Hulk Hogan for some reason, which did make me laugh to be fair. Other enemies include crows, zombies, skeletons and more. There is very little challenge here, and the game can be completed in an hour if taking your time, or around 25 minutes if you’re speed running.
If you’re a fan of old school Mario games you will dig this a lot. You know what to expect; 8-bit pixel graphics, chip tune soundtrack and the protagonist letting one go every time you complete a level. It sounds goofy, and it is. But it’s also surprisingly charming and a lot of fun to play. Despite the shortness of levels, there are hidden caves in nearly every one, and there are special artifacts to collect too. It also comes with a very easy and enjoyable Platinum trophy, which at most will take you 2 hours. Throw in the fact that it’s cheap as well and you’re left with a good reason to dust off your Vita.
Sigi: A Fart for Melusina is a fun, flatulent platformer that is worth farting around on.
