Project Phoenix, the Japanese indie RPG currently being crowdfunded through Kickstarter, has been making strides into the console market with the announcement that the Project Phoenix game will be released on the PS4 and PS Vita.

“After launching the Project Phoenix Kickstarter, we were overwhelmed by the number of fans who wanted to experience the finished product on a game console. Given their enthusiasm, we wanted to make their wishes a reality,” Hiroaki Yura, Project Phoenix director, explains. “With the deal close to being finalized, we are very excited by the opportunity to reach out to the console games community by launching the game on PS 4 and PS Vita. We are confident our team can deliver a fantastic console experience.”

Although details are still forthcoming, this latest announcement will require that Kickstarter backers who want a PS4 or PS Vita version of the game change their pledge amounts and crowdfunding platform from Kickstarter to Paypal. Furthermore, this will merit an extension of the crowdfunding drive through Paypal. Per Project Phoenix’s policy, all pledges made through Paypal, even after the Kickstarter portion of the drive is over, will contribute to Project Phoenix’s stretch goals such as a fully explorable world and more content.
