Knee Deep (PS4)
“If you crossed The Big Sleep with True Blood and Columbo, stuck a crocodile in the middle and put it on Broadway, well, that would be weird, but it gives you an idea what to expect (but no vampires, sorry).” 8/10

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance – PS4
It’s a no-brainer and a compulsory purchase. Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is a definite contender for Game of the Year.” 9.5/10

Steins;Gate – PS Vita
Steins; Gate is a long and deep story that thunders along at a cracking pace, delivering shocks and emotional punches.” 10/10

Flame Over – PS4
A tough but hugely rewarding experience that amounts to one of the best PS4 releases around.” 9/10

Zombie Vikings – PS4
If you enjoy beat ‘em ups, witty dialogue, great voice acting, fantastic characters and a bonkers storyline you will love Zombie Vikings.” 8/10

Dying Light – PS4
One of the PS4’s first surprises of the year. What a great way to kick off 2015. Stunning graphics, almost flawless mechanics and gameplay that’s tougher than your grandmother’s overcooked liver.” 9/10

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter – PS4
A stunning combat-free and narrative-driven indie that graphically outshines just about every other game on the PS4. Lost: Ethan Carter. Found: a brand new classic.” 9/10

The Evil Within – PS4
Prepare to be turned upside down. Prepare to have your nerves shredded. Prepare for giant eyeballs and grotesque creatures. The Evil Within is nothing short of utterly disturbing and utterly brilliant.” 9/10

Game of Thrones – PS4
Get out your blood pressure pills because Telltale have done it again. Iron From Ice, the first episode of their Game of Thrones series is packed full of tension, shocking brutality and antagonistic cruelty. Prepare to make the worst decisions of your life and love every moment of it.” 9/10

Never Alone – PS4
“My greatest hope is that Never Alone will kick-start the ‘World Game’ genre, because this was one of the most moving and haunting experiences I’ve had on a console. Plus, I learned stuff.” 10/10

Zombie Army Trilogy
Mixing up epic historical events with the walking dead for the final chapter in the Zombie Army story still produces a worthy purchase.” 8/10

Lost Orbit – PS4
The lovechild of Velocity Ultra and Thomas Was Alone, Lost Orbit could quite possibly be contender for indie game of the year.” 9/10

Shadow Warrior
Old school gameplay that rolls out a dream on PS4 – crash, Wang, wallop and shagging rabbits, Shadow Warrior won’t disappoint.” 8/10

Jamestown+ PS4
This shooter has been to the school of Monty Python, doused in charm and given a music score Andrew Lloyd Webber would have sold his soul for. 8/10

OlliOlli 2: Welcome To Olliwood -PS4/PS Vita
With combos better value than Subway, OlliOlli 2 truly sticks out like a sore thumb, in the best possible way. From where we’re sitting, OlliOlli 2 is an early yet worthy contender for coolest game of the year.” 9.5/10

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – PS4
An excellent package featuring hundreds of hours of content and allowing you to revisit two excellent games from the previous generation.” 9/10

Hatoful Boyfriend PS4/PS Vita

If you’re on the fence about this game jump down, skip over the cross badger and do a Riverdance all the way to the shops.” 8/10

Futuridium EP Deluxe – PS4/PS Vita
MixedBag have stripped away the unnecessary and gone back to basics to produce something extraordinarily special. Highly polished gameplay and amazing mechanics deliver to PS4 and PS Vita a massive heart pumping release. Late night gaming just got a whole lot later.” 10/10
