De Mambo is a chaotic and fast paced single-screen action platform game that lets players take control of up to four characters locked in infinite mambo. The aim of the game is to knock your opponent off the screen… and use your measly one button to attack with three levels of charge. Break the level however you decide (thanks to some flimsy architecture) to make your game marginally different each time you play.
After successfully completing their Kickstarter campaign and taking De Mambo to Japan for the Tokyo Games Show last year, The Dangerous Kitchen return in 2016.
EGX Rezzed 2015 was De Mambo’s first public exhibition, with Lucy Dove, designer and animator reminiscing, “EGX Rezzed 2015 was the first event we ever did, so we’re thrilled to be able to come back this year and die from exhaustion all over again!”
De Mambo will not only boast rebalanced gameplay and a new visual update, whilst also offering new blocks, levels and modes for players to experience… but this time it’s war, as The Dangerous Kitchen will be giving away a free copy of De Mambo to the public each day of EGX Rezzed. “Nothing beats a public exhibition of your game, except… beating the public at said exhibition of your own game.” Elaborates artist and writer Shaun Roopra, as all players need to do is win a match to be eligible to win their free copy.
